My work shown at Yr 5 Open Evening at St Bernard’s

I was delighted to be asked to exhibit some of the work that I created whilst an artist in residence, for the schools Yr5 open evening. This exhibition helps raise the profile of the arts in the school and education.

it was a real pleasure to be part of this programme. I learnt a lot and it helped in my artistic development. I owe the school a debt of gratitude for this opportunity

It is my hope that it has been as beneficial to the students as it was for me. after all the work produced formed the basis for my exhibition “Origins” at The Forum in May 2023

it is my belief that the arts do so much for the development of the person; cognitive abilities, tangental thinking and considering the world around us, and that’s just for starters

Preparation for my next event

As one who struggles with the concept of staying still, I am on to the next thing.

Just taken down my work as part of the Burnham Art Trail, and already getting ready for an exhibition at Rayleigh Windmill

I did this last year but earlier in the summer. This time I am in the windmill at the same time as the summer holidays. I wonder how many children will climb those winding stairs up to the floor where my work is?

I’m hoping to hear lots of oohs and ahhs when they see my work….fingers crossed anyway

Rayleigh Windmill

Lots of work on show in a variety of sizes, media and styles

Plus colouring sheets for those who are interested

Until last year I’d never been here. There are very knowledgeable volunteers who can give you information about the windmill and the local area

Well worth a visit if you don’t have claustrophobia or vertigo. A challenge getting yourself up the steep stairs let alone getting work up there

Nucleus Art Ezhibition

Well as we’ve already established I’m not one to sit on my laurels, so how about this? Applied to exhibit at a gallery in Kent and delighted to say that @halperngallery accepted a painting and this will be exhibited throughout July & August

“Continuity”

Excited to visit a new gallery and in a bit of the country I’ve not spent much time in since my university days in Maidstone

Exhibit at Thames Chase Forest

And at the end of August I have three pieces exhibited at another new venue Thames Chase Forest Centre in Upminster

This is a converted barn in a forested area

Looking forward to exploring the area and seeing the work in the exhibition

Oh and in other news I took on a new role. Social Media Secretary at Southend Art Club

So what does this involve?

Well my husband would say even more time on my phone. He’s not wrong. But really it just means giving more obvious and relevant information to the members

Promotion of the talents of the club members and highlighting the arts in the local area.

So as part of that I shall be touring the art trail in Leigh on Sea. Visiting pals and making new acquaintances. Seeing all the great work on show.

Pictures to follow

And if you read this and think this is a little out of date…I was so busy I forgot to publish this. So better late than never or maybe not?
