Colour & Emotion
There are a number of themes evident in my work. Most obvious, is my love of colour in its most pure and joyful form.
My process is intuitive, embracing the unexpected. Patterns emerge. Shapes repeat. Lines and geometry intertwine with bold washes of colour. I draw inspiration from kaleidoscopic imagery and the structured chaos of the natural world, using visual rhythm to draw viewers in.
NEW WORK

Little gems on canvas boards

In my abstract work. I explore colour, texture, and intuitive mark-making to create expressive, layered compositions. Each painting develops through an organic process, where movement and balance emerge gradually rather than being planned in advance. Inspired by mood, light, and the emotional qualities of colour, the work invites open interpretation and encourages the viewer to experience feeling and atmosphere over form.

Abstract Mixed Media Collages on Paper
A new direction of working for me, but definitely one that suits my natural inclination to explore and play with shape, texture and colour. All without the fear and pressure of expectation

These paintings were created for a joint exhibition with my fellow abstract painter and friend Rebecca Coleman.
Thematically, the work was based on concepts of order in colour and shape, with a nod to the underlying sense of chaos which is ever present in life

Whilst working as artist in residence, my focus turned to place. This body of work explores the environments we inhabit — our homes, cities, landscapes — and how these influence our emotional lives. Using a schematic approach, I reduced the complexity of built and natural environments into symbols, blocks of colour, and repeated motifs. The result is a collection of pattern-based paintings that are deeply personal yet widely resonant.

Series of large acrylic paintings on canvas. These were influenced by the elements and my love of colour and geometric shapes. I made this series for an exhibition that unfortunately never happened due to the pandemic, but have since been exhibited and received lots of praise. Large textured paintings that make a real impact

Taraxacum Concentric Eccentric
These are large textured taraxacum paintings also made for the exhibition that didn’t happen. Really love the colours, textures and scale of these
