Often when painting, I only have a vague idea of what I am aiming for, that’s intuitive painting for you. These paintings were no different. They became a series of re-imagined landscapes from half remembered images. A connection to place that has impacted the visual cortex.

Recollections of the colours & textures of The Acropolis in Athens

In my abstract work, I explore colour, texture, and intuitive mark-making to create expressive, layered compositions. Each painting develops through an organic process, where movement and balance emerge gradually rather than being planned in advance. Inspired by mood, light, and the emotional qualities of colour, the work invites open interpretation and encourages the viewer to experience feeling and atmosphere over form.

Recollections from the landscape that surrounds me,The Thames Estuary

Love the colour pop that the painted edges of the pictures gives to the shadow gap in these floating frames

The paintings in this collection are painted on black canvas. Something that affects the values of the colours applied. A challenge that I have thoroughly enjoyed
